Scrag Mountain Music connects communities in central Vermont to classical music in a powerful way by presenting innovative, interactive, and affordable performances of world-class chamber music.

Here is how we define Community Supported Chamber Music: 
  • All are welcome. “Come as you are. Pay what you can.” Admission for all concerts is by free-­‐will donation taken at intermission. This allows everyone to experience great  chamber music no matter what they can afford.
  • We create community. Whether enjoying a string quartet in the warm barn space at Green Mountain Girls’ Farm with a full stomach of spicy chili or mingling in the Warren Town Hall with a cup of coffee before a “Very Open Rehearsal,” we create community around music.
  • We create concert experiences. Beyond just listening to live music, we help our audiences relate to the music they hear by offering anecdotes and activities that open ears, minds, and hearts.
