Hailing from Chicago, this progressive string quartet made a big splash here in Vermont two years ago and now we welcome them back with their new violinist Clara Lyon. Evan will join the quartet for Dvorak's Quintet in G major and Mary will sing works by Golijov and Birtwistle. Spektral will also perform Steve Reich's mesmerizing "Different Trains" for string quartet and tape.

Schumann.

Artistic directors Mary Bonhag and Evan Premo will be joined by "radiant" and "expressive" (The New York TImes) cellist Karen Ozounian and internationally performing soloist and chamber musician, violinist Emily Popham Gillins. The program explores themes different human relationships with a focus on brotherhood and will feature new world-premiere by last season's composer-in-residence, Lembit Beecher. The program will also include pieces by Henry Purcell, Arvo Pärt, Victoria Poleva, Jean-Baptiste Barrière, and music of the Weavers.
