"Every once in a while a concert venue becomes an integral part of a performance. Such was the case Friday when Scrag Mountain Music presented its program “The Sacred Songs of the Marys” at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church in Montpelier. As the performers stood with the backdrop of the Crucifix and bronzed statues of saints, the beautifully sung chant-like melodies echoed hauntingly throughout the massive and reverberant gothic church.
